Manzanillo International Fishing Tourney. Usually held the 3rd week in
January, this tournament is held in Barra de Navidad. Barra de Navidad is
about 15 miles north of the international airport of Manzanillo. Prizes are
awarded. |

MARCH |

 |
San Diego to Manzanillo
International Yacht Race (February - March). Hosted by the San Diego Yacht
Club, this race kicks off in San Diego on late February. All ocean racing/cruising
yachts whose owner or charter is a member of US Sailing, her National
Authority, or the ISAF are invited. Yachts can compete in a PHRF Racing
Class or a Performance Cruising Class. Competing yachts will sail 1,120
nautical miles to Manzanillo Bay. The awards party will be held at Las Hadas
Resort in Manzanillo on early March. For more information, please contact

Manzanillo Carnival (April-May). The
Manzanillo Carnival stands out for its parades, its dances and competitions
with masks and its groups of musicians and dancers that go through the
streets dressed in their beautiful showy costumes. This carnival is a
colorful and jubilant fiesta. |

Fiestas de Mayo Celebration. This is a celebration of the foundation of Manzanillo with many types of events.

Marine Day (June 1). Navy Day is
celebrated every year in Manzanillo. The resort is the home port of the
Mexican Navy on the Pacific Coast. |

holiday celebrated throughout Mexico with grand parades. |

Feria de Todos Los Santos (Fair). This is a celebration of the saints of Colima. |

Manzanillo Cumbia, Salsa y Merengue International Festival. The annual Cumbia, Salsa and Merengue International
Festival is held in the lovely Port of Manzanillo, with performances by
artists and musicians of international stature.
Sword Fish International Tournament. This International Sailfish Tournament
is open to the public, and fishermen must previously register with the
Organizing Committee of the Manzanillo Fishing Club. Prizes are given for
first, second and third place in the sailfish, marlin and dorado categories. |

DECEMBER |

16-24 Dec. Las Posadas.
Each night the faithful re-enact Joseph and Mary's search for posada (shelter)
on their journey to Belen. For the less devout, it's an excuse for a party.
Many hotels and restaurants hold their own posada festivities. |
